We formed a choir in the summer for staff, volunteers and clients. Musical director, George Bevan, has been getting them ready to perform at our 21st birthday celebration service.

Our homeless drop in centre , Lifeline, was recently featured on local BBC News as we are fundraising to secure its future in a new premises which needs refurbishment. The broadcast led to a substancial amount of generous donations from the public.

Genesis Trust received the 2016 Charity award in this year’s prestigious Bath Life awards. CEO Paul Solly and Head of Fund raising Michelle Williams attended the awards ceremony and were delighted to take home the trophy!
There’s still time to watch the BBC’s live broadcast of the Christmas Eucharist from Bath Abbey. The programme featured beautiful singing and interviews with some of the projects the Abbey supports including our Lifeline project – a drop in centre for homeless people based in Bath Abbey vaults. Bath’s MP donates recent pay rise to 2 local charities & cites Genesis for ” invaluable work in alleviating poverty amongst the most vulnerable in our community”

Director of Genesis Trust, Paul Solly, was quoted in a feature about Bath’s hidden poverty in a recent issue of the Bath Chronicle. We have experienced a marked increase in demand for help from our frontline projects: Bath Foodbank and our drop in centre in the vaults of Bath Abbey.
Genesis has bought 5 places in the inaugural Bristol to Bath marathon in October 2015. We still have two places left and are keen for runners to support us if doing this new exciting race!
Genesis is being given a lease on a property in Walcot Street in Bath which it hopes to convert into a workshop, upmarket furniture shop and offices. The proposed development will be going through the planning process this year.
Mayor of Bath Cherry Beath visited our Lifeskills clients in January at the Roman Baths. They’re taking part in a 6 week art course inspired by the Beau Street hoard of Roman coins and are exploring different art genres from printing to portraiture.
Thomas Downey, who was murdered in Bath on Christmas Eve was a regular user of our Lifeline Drop In centre in Bath Abbey. The manager and staff there were deeply saddened to hear of his death.
Staff at M&S Bath have chosen Genesis as their charity of the year and supplied shoeboxes filled with Christmas treats to our Lifeline clients at their Christmas party
Out of twenty short listed organisations, Genesis wins top prize of £4,000 in Bath Chronicle & Wessex Water community grant scheme
