The Bath Half Marathon once again hit the streets in the city on Sunday, 16 October on what turned out to be a lovely, sunny autumn day. We had a team of runners who all put in a tremendous effort training in advance, running on the day and fundraising for Genesis Trust and Bath Foodbank. A team of staff and students from Monkton School also volunteered in the baggage tent – a busy but rewarding activity at the heart of the runners’ village.

It was the 40th Bath Half and it has been a journey with twists and turns to get to the day of the run from the original date set in 2021! Several runners, including our own Community, Events and Bath Foodbank Facilitator, Olivia Sladden, ran the half marathon virtually in the months before and we thank them for taking on that challenge too.

Bath Foodbank was supported by a team of eight staff from Rotork in the Corporate Challenge part of the race. They were led by Team Bath AC athlete, Dave Coales, and they not only achieved some fantastic times but have also raised over £2,200 and counting.

Our Team Genesis this year was a wonderful mixture of people and experiences, some doing their first half marathon and other more seasoned runners.  i3Works, another company team, and Monkton School with a team of staff and parents together, with many individual runners have raised over £6,500 so far!

We are so grateful for and inspired by all the people who take on this level of challenge. Hats off to you all!
