Local Businesses Helping Local People

As we head into January we’d like to celebrate the amazing support of our local businesses in Bath, who went above and beyond to help homeless, hungry and vulnerable people through donations of money, gifts in kind and hours of volunteering this Christmas. One of these was Lakeland Bath, who made a fantastic donation of £873 and a gift of two new, robust frying pans and a super toaster for our Lunch Box project.

Lunch Box, based at St Michael’s Church, serves hot food twice a week for rough sleepers and the vulnerably housed. A service that is very welcome during the winter months.

Val and Glenys, our Lunch Box leaders were invited to choose kitchenware from the Lakeland Bath store. On Mondays and Wednesdays these are being put to good use as our dedicated volunteers prepare and serve on average 50 hot meals a day.

Many thanks to Neal, Manager at Lakeland and all his generous staff. Lakeland Bath is continuing to support Genesis Trust by hosting collection tins at the tills – look out when you’re next in store!

If you are a local business, café, shop or other organisation and would like to help please look at some of the ways to get involved.

Alternatively if you’d like to fund a hot meal for a hungry person in Bath you can purchase one of our Genesis Vouchers.
