With less than a fortnight to go to the Bath Half Marathon on March 12th, 2 of our staff are channelling the super power vibe as they get ready for the big day. Fund raiser Sarah Buck is doing her first Bath Half whilst drop in centre worker, Caleb Mallard, is an old hand. Sarah came up with the Souper Hero theme for this year to draw attention to our longest standing project – the nightly soup run. Delivered by 300 volunteers from 15 churches, the teams turn up every night of the year to a city centre car park, offering soup and sandwiches to homeless and vulnberable people in the city. The project was set up 26 years ago and with 25 people officially sleeping rough in Bath, the need for it is still there – sadly.
Our running team this year is 18 strong, so give them a cheer if you see them in their Genesis vests ( and capes!) on the day.
