Christmas Help

Ways you can help this Christmas

Want to give time?

Our projects are operating in a COVID-secure way, which means we have to limit the number of people in our buildings at any one time.  This means that we can have fewer volunteers on shift and do not need any additional volunteers over the Christmas period. Thank you anyway for your interest – when we have new volunteer opportunities they will be displayed on our website.  Click HERE to see volunteering opportunities.

Want to give a gift?

Each Christmas we love to be able to give Christmas presents to our clients.  We give toy vouchers and festive food to families using our foodbank, we give toiletries, warm items of clothing and edible treats to those who are sleeping rough and activity-based packs to our clients who are socially isolated and/or struggling with mental ill-health.  The Genesis staff enjoy taking take care and time to personalise gifts as well for each client. Often this is the only gift that a person will receive for Christmas.

There are two ways you can give a gift:

  1. Donations to our CHRISTMAS GIFTS APPEAL will enable us to buy gifts and toy vouchers for the people that we work with.  PLEASE DONATE HERE.
  2. We would welcome donations of these items for CARE PACKAGES:
  • New batteries, sizes AA and AAA
  • Torches – LED, battery and wind up/rechargeable – all sizes
  • Radios, wind up and battery operated
  • Thermos flasks (1litre)
  • Travel mugs – non leaking!
  • Rucksacks 25-30 litre capacity

You can see a more extensive list or print an A4 poster HERE.

Donations can be dropped off to our collection point at West Avenue BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

PLEASE EMAIL to reserve your time slot.

Thank you for your kindness in helping to make someone’s Christmas this year.

Want to give food?

If you would like to donate food to Bath Foodbank, please do this by buying in store and putting the item in one of the collection points. You can see the store locations HERE.

If you do have a larger donation of food, please MAKE AN APPOINTMENT to drop it off to our collection point at West Avenue on a TUESDAY. Please email to reserve your time slot.

Please be aware that all donations of food to be given out in time for Christmas need to be received by 10th December so that our warehouse team can sort the food and get it out to those who need it.
