The very first Genesis Trust project was launched in Bath over 28 years ago. We became a registered charity in March 1995 and today are managed by a Board of Trustees and a small team of mainly part-time staff.

Nick was appointed in January 2017 to lead Genesis into the next phase of its journey. His career has been in telecoms, ecommerce and his own businesses.

Paul Solly, Gateway Centre Manager

Paul Solly, - Gateway Centre Manager

Paul has been with Genesis since 2001 and as its director for 15 years, has helped grow the charity into what it is today. He manages our Lifeline Centre (Lifeline, Life Skills & Lunch Box) based at the Gateway Centre.

Caleb Mallard, Pathways & Volunteer Manager

Caleb Mallard, - Pathways & Volunteer Manager

Caleb has a BA in Theology and was a youth worker and minister prior to coming to Bath. He leads our Pathways Programme, volunteer management & manages the office and central support for our projects.

Ivana Bensted, - Lifeline Centre Deputy Manager

Ivana joined us in 2018 having previously worked as a Management Consultant for Deloitte. As well as being part of the Lifeline team, Ivana looks after the smooth running of
our data systems and reporting.

Amy Fallaize, - Administrative Assistant

Amy is a recent graduate from the University of Bath where she studied psychology. She joined Genesis in October 2019 and in her role in charge of the Genesis office she is the one most likely to answer any queries.

Sean Sutton, Lifeline Centre Deputy Manager

Sean Sutton, - Lifeline Centre Deputy Manager

Sean joined Genesis in 2014 having completed a Theology in Mission course.
Sean has a background in food retail management having worked for several high street names and now runs a busy cleaning business alongside his employment with Genesis.

Sue Fourie, - Life Skills Manager

Sue joined us in February 2020 from her previous roles in education, training and development. She has a degree in Special Educational Needs and is responsible for all the Life Skills activities and courses.

Denise has been with Life Skills since its beginning in 2006. Denise manages the project, groups of volunteers and leads the workshops.

Matt Prescott, - Life Skills Facilitator

Matt joined Life Skills in 2016 and assists Denise in leading the groups and managing the volunteers. Matt has a degree in graphic design and an MA in animation. He previously worked for Genesis as a volunteer.

Anthony Ward, - Furniture Project Manager

Anthony joined Genesis in March 2015 to develop and run the Furniture Project. He has a background in business improvement, management and training, as well as in property and furniture restoration.

John Stauber, - Furniture Project Team Leader (Vans)

John joined the Furniture Project in February 2016. In the past he's worked as a project manager for school's ICT and in the solar panel industry. As a driver at the furniture project he hopes to help the department grow.

Kelly joined us in August 2017, with over ten years experience working in the charity sector. Before arriving, Kelly worked on funding major projects at Wells Cathedral.

Hilary’s first career was in the Army. She has now settled with her family in Bath and began volunteering with Genesis in 2016 before taking up the role of Community and Events Manager.

Peter joined us in 2017. Previously he spent 15 years working for the BBC in finance and prior to that 15 years in the brewing industry.

Sir Peter Heywood, Chair of Trustees

Sir Peter Heywood, - Chair of Trustees

Trustee since: 1995

Current occupation: Social entrepreneur, and founder of the Bath Christian Action Network (BathCAN).

Work/Life Experience: Peter has worked for major international companies in the UK, Africa and Belgium and formed his own company in 1996. In 1991, he set up the management team of the Soup Run. This was the start of what later became the Genesis Trust.

Ian McKay, Deputy Chair of Trustees

Current Occupation: Involved in a range of charities, including Chair of A Rocha UK, and Chair and Founder of Innovira.

Work/Life Experience: Ian has worked in commerce, consulting and charities. His roles included International Director for Bible Society, CEO of Mowgli Mentoring, and Director of Programmes and Collaboration at Send a Cow.

Triss Horwood, Trustee

Triss Horwood, - Trustee

Trustee since 2018.

Current Occupation: Full time ministry in partnership with her husband, supporting churches across England and the Far East of Russia in all aspects of church life.

Work/life Experience: a nurse and senior manager in the NHS for over 34 years. Company Owner/Director and a Trustee to a number of Charities.

Work/Life Experience: Jim lives in Bath and has previously worked as a Manager of AXA.

Work/life experience: Bath born and bred and works in courts all over the country.

Alastair Gibson, - Trustee

Trustee since: 2020

Current Occupation: Managing Director of Charlcombe Homes Ltd, Bath.

Work / Life Experience: Alastair lives and works in Bath and is married with two daughters. He is a Chartered Surveyor who started his own business in 2002. He is a member of the congregation at St Swithin’s, Walcot, where he was responsible for project managing a full refurbishment programme.
