The message from the Bath Foodbank to the schools:  “We are here to help.”

The Bath Foodbank, which is part of Genesis Trust, would like to invite you to participate in helping us meet a huge need during the summer holiday.   Many children from disadvantaged and vulnerable families receive help from schools by receiving free school meals during the school year.  But during the summer holidays that provision is not available and that is where the Bath Foodbank steps in to fill the gap!

In 2016, the Bath Foodbank leadership first became aware of the need.   They were hearing stories from families of how they were struggling without the provision of school meals.   They found out that parents were skipping meals to insure their children had food.  So a plan was put in place to meet the need and that is where you and I can help.

If you would like to help, you can donate specific items of food.  Below is a list of needed items:⠀

Tinned Custard⠀
Tinned Fruit⠀
Tinned Meat⠀
Tinned Fish⠀
Sauce (for pasta)⠀
Sponge Pudding⠀
Chocolate⠀
Instant Mash⠀

Here are the various ways that you can donate:⠀

  • You can drop off food at various supermarkets’ donation bins and some local shops. Please check the Bath Foodbank website for a complete list.  Click here to see the locations.
  • With prior arrangement, you can drop off food at 31a West Avenue, BA2 3QB. This is the Bath Foodbank warehouse.  Email office@genesistrust.org.uk to arrange a drop-off.
  • For larger collections and with prior arrangement, the food can be collected in the Bath Foodbank van. Email office@genesistrust.org.uk to arrange a pick-up.

Thank you for your support as the Bath Foodbank and Genesis Trust support homeless and vulnerable people in the Bath area.
