Part of a national network of food banks seeded by the Trussell and locally supported under Genesis Trust. Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank provides crisis food support of nutritionally balanced food and further support to local people who are referred to us.

Supporting People in Crisis

For people on low incomes, a sudden change in circumstances such as redundancy, benefit delay or even an unexpected bill, can mean going hungry. The Foodbank aims to support these people and ensure that everyone can access food when they need to.

All the food is kindly donated by the general public, businesses and organisations, and a team of volunteers help to deliver this service.

We have a most needed list of items and the different donation locations on the Foodbank website. You can purchase items at the grocery store and leave them in the donation basket after the tills. Please click here to go to the Foodbank website.

Bank the Food App

A good way to donate food more effectively is to use the Bank the Food app.  You can download it to your phone or computer, register and choose Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank.  We update it regularly with the most needed food items. Give Online via Give Today

You can donate to the Foodbank online using Give Today. Our Give Today page is updated regularly with our most needed items. And at great prices! Your donation will then be delivered directly to our warehouse. Click here to go to our Give Today page.

Donate Surplus Fresh Food

If you’re a restaurant, cafe or shop and have excess fresh food, Genesis Trust can get it to people who are hungry and homeless in Bath through our Lifeline Project. The Foodbank can only accept non-perishable food, but Genesis Trust can use it. If you would be interested in donating food to our projects, please contact us.

Get Help

The Bath, Keynsham & Somer Valley Foodbank works using a voucher referral system.  Emergency food parcels can be obtained by getting an electronic Foodbank voucher from a referral agency. Here are a few agencies that you can call to get a voucher:
