“A big thank you for putting it all together and keeping us updated and informed all the way. Was a big privilege to be part of it all!” ~Christiaan
Last Sunday we had the pleasure of participating in the Bath Half Marathon and what a great day it was. Everyone felt very excited arriving at the runners’ village in Victoria Park first thing, and after a chilly start the charity hall was full of runners arriving to get their photos taken, having a drink and snacks, and the all-important pep talk.
The weather on Sunday was perfect for running, and the turnout of cheerers and supporting family members made for a fantastic atmosphere. In fact, we had 20 students, parents, and staff members from Monkton Combe School volunteering in the busy baggage tents making the experience for our runners as smooth and organised as possible.
Not only was their help massively appreciated by everyone at Genesis Trust but we also received an extra donation for each volunteer so that will add to the fundraising total. Thank you so much Monkton School!
We had a record total of 30 amazing runners to fundraise for Genesis. They have collectively raised over £10,000 and will continue to fundraise for the next few weeks. You can still donate! Click HERE for each runner’s fundraising page. We can’t do our work supporting homeless and vulnerable people with you.
So it was a fantastic day with fantastic people, and we can’t wait for the next one.
Are you feeling inspired?
The next Bath Half is just around the corner on Sunday the 17th of March 2024. It could be the perfect New Year’s resolution to get a little healthier whilst raising money for homeless and vulnerable people of Bath. We would love to have you on our team. Please follow this link to sign up and reserve your place to run with Genesis Trust in 2024.
