Every year, our amazing corporate partners volunteer their time, skills and expertise to help us support people in Bath who are affected by poverty in all its forms, homelessness, mental ill-health, and other complex needs.

From participating in our multiple challenge events such as skydives, the London Marathon, Abseiling down famous landmarks in Bath, and running the Bath Half Marathon, to volunteering their time at our different local locations. There are lots of ways that a company and staff can get involved to raise funds for our vital services and awareness of our mission.

A perfect example of this is the CEO of Curious Universe, John Styring, who is taking on the Dragon’s Back Race, a 380km ultra running journey through the Welsh mountains! Starting September 2nd, John will tackle this epic six-day race, climbing the equivalent of 2 Everests and facing the notorious Crib Goch. John’s been training hard and funding this himself. You can read more, support him and share the story HERE.

Corporate volunteering has been shown to boost employees’ happiness levels with some studies showing that 80% of employees felt happier from volunteering activities. It can also help with employees’ sense of purpose, which makes them four times more engaged at work than those who do not feel purpose through their job.

We can say with absolute certainty that it helps us at Genesis Trust immensely and enables us to provide better support for our community.

Are you interested in a charity partnership and/or volunteering with your colleagues? We would love to hear from you! Please contact Rachel if you have any question – rachel.baker@genesistrust.org.uk.
