We are so grateful to everyone in the community who support Foodbank, especially as we make our way through Harvest. We have had lots of churches, schools and organisations collecting for us, which will make a huge difference in the months to come.
A big thank you to our 184 amazing volunteers who help collect and sort the food donations, pack up food parcels and make our clients feel welcome at the centres. We couldn’t provide emergency food parcels without their hard work. Thank you so much to you all.
Across Bath, Keynsham and Somer Valley we have nine centres where we are able to give emergency food to anyone facing crisis. The community have come together during April 2025 to March 2026 to support approx. 9250 people, including 3000 children with food. On a monthly basis we are seeing an average of 83 first-time referrals.
Financial Inclusion Project
The most frequent reasons given for needing a Foodbank referral are low income, debt and homelessness. This is why, for the past three years, we have been running the Financial Inclusion Project. This involves Citizens Advice and Clean Slate coming to our sessions and offering support with issues that brought clients to the Foodbank.
This year (Apr25-Mar26) we have seen an 11.5% decrease in referrals, which is consistent with Trussell’s national data. More needs to be done to fully understand this decrease, but a contributing factor will be the Financial Inclusion Project, funded by Trussell-funded and delivered by many foodbanks across the UK.
We are in talks with Trussel and other funders to ensure this important project can continue at our Foodbank centres. With the cost of living continuing to rise, we anticipate a busy winter period ahead.
Supporting families on the lead up to Christmas
Many parents and guardians relying on emergency food parcels on the lead up to Christmas will struggle to afford a Christmas present for their children. When parents and guardians come into Foodbank, we want to empower them to choose the right Christmas present for their children.
To cover the whole of Bath, Keynsham and Somer Valley we’ll need at least 500 vouchers. With support from The Entertainer and supporters like yourself, we can provide a £20 toy voucher for each child, enabling families to purchase the perfect gift for each of their children.
If you would like to help us get 500 vouchers, you can give £20 for one child’s gift by visiting our Christmas Gift Page.
Food Drives in your area
On 26th – 28th November, Tesco supermarket in Keynsham and Midsomer Norton will be having three more Foodbank collection days. Our wonderful volunteers give out our ‘most needed items’ list to shoppers and then thank those who donate a few items as they leave. It generates much needed donations at this busy time of year.

Thank you to everyone who supports Foodbank, a project where the community supports the community. Together we can enable local people to journey from crisis to independence.
