As we venture into 2021 it is “Good News!” and a “Thank You!” from Dave Kingswood of Home for Good. He reports good news despite the difficult times. “Although COVID has been a very trying time in terms of Church engagement for Home for Good in BANES, I have been so encouraged by people coming forward who are interested in fostering and adoption. At the time of writing we need only five new families to meet the need to make sure that every child in the Bath area has a loving home.”
To celebrate this and to recognise the vital role of local social workers in this achievement, Home for Good Bath gave fifty five bags of goodies to the BANES social workers. These included sweets, mince pies, coffee, coasters, a thank-you card, a Genesis Trust/Bath Foodbank trolley coin keyring and some tinsel!
“This was to encourage social workers who work with vulnerable children and young people across Bath and North East Somerset.” Dave says, “Social work is often a thankless task and it has been particularly difficult in this time of the pandemic. So this was a chance to champion our social workers and let them know we think they are great!”
Senior managers thanked Dave and Home for Good for the lovely gift bags and one recipient said on Twitter “Thank you Home 4 Good, I received one today and it is very much appreciated!”
At Genesis Trust we really appreciate and celebrate the social workers and all they do to support both the young people and the prospective parents on their fostering and adoption journey.
