Behind the scenes at Genesis, a beautiful relationship is blooming!
We are delighted that management consultancy i3Works has chosen us to be their Charity of the Year. The business is already throwing itself into supporting what we do in many different ways.
So far i3Works has done a whole-team virtual challenge from Glasgow to Rome, using a bespoke route created for them as part of the #GenesisTogether Virtual Challenges. In August a team of 18 staff collectively covered 1700 miles in 31 days!
Our Foodbank has also benefitted from the hands-on support of Consultant Iesha Trowbridge, who volunteered for 6 weeks at a time when we really needed help. i3Works staff have also signed up to run in both the Bath Half and the London Marathon next year, raising funds for Genesis Trust.
Company involvement can bring huge benefits to a small charity such as Genesis Trust, but there is also evidence that the relationship is far from one-way. Charity involvement brings good PR and enhanced corporate identity, as well as strengthened teams and healthier morale and retention levels.
Ben Ames, a Director of i3Works said “We are delighted to be working with Genesis Trust as our chosen charity for 2020/2021. As people will no doubt expect, Covid has had a significant impact on their plans for the year. However, we’ve been able to get involved with some of the projects still running, such as their Foodbank and a virtual team travel challenge. Some of us will be running the postponed Bath Half and London Marathon, and our new intake of Project Controls Academy consultants will be working with the charity on a bespoke project. We are in constant discussion with Genesis to see how we can continue to offer them our support during these uncertain times.”
We are so grateful for the support given by i3Works as this really boosts our work with homeless and vulnerable people. If you would like your company to get involved, please contact our Community and Events Manager Hilary Long.
