After working with Genesis Trust for 12 years Nick Mayo, our CEO, is saying ‘goodbye’ to enjoy the next season in his life. Nick will be retiring at the end of January and is looking forward to a well earned rest.
Nick initially joined as trustee. He then became a Genesis staff member and soon moved into the CEO role. He has held this post for nearly 10 years.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Nick for all his hard work in helping to make Genesis the organisation it is today. We would also like to thank him for building a culture where every staff member, volunteer and client are valued and supported.
I am sure you will want to join me in wishing Nick and his family every blessing for the future.
Whilst this is a time of looking back, it is also a time to look to the future for Genesis.
Over the next few months we will be actively looking for a permanent replacement for Nick; but in the meantime Eddie Spruit, who has been a serving member of the Trustee Board since 2019, will become Acting CEO for Genesis from 1st February 2026.
Eddie said, “It’s been a privilege to serve Genesis as a trustee over last seven years and it’s an honour to step up to the role of CEO to lead Genesis in its efforts to support those who need it most.”
We look forward to this new season, thanking Nick, Eddie and all of you involved in Genesis, for your commitment to supporting homeless and vulnerable people in our community.
Thank you, from Triss Horwood, Chair of Trustees,
