Other Ways to Help

Recycling

Did you know that recycling your unwanted things can help to raise funds for us? And it's better for the environment!

Genesis Trust Furniture

Genesis Trust recycles tons of furniture each year!  You can participate in this in 2 ways:

  1. Buy your next piece of furniture with Genesis Furniture.  Click HERE to go to our online shop.
  2. Donate good quality, pre-loved furniture to Genesis Trust.  Click HERE to donate using our online form or you can call 01225 421111 to speak to our Furniture Shop team.

Recycle Inkjet Cartridges

You can recycle your old inkjet cartridges through Recycle4Charity and raise funds for our work with vulnerable people and families in the Bath area.

You can do it 3 easy ways:

  1. Print off your own FREE postage label and post your used cartridges to Recycle4Charity (Click the link above to print a postage label).
  2. Alternatively, you can order your own Recycle4Charity box.  When it’s full you can post it absolutely free.  The box is already ready for postage (Click the link above to order a free box).
  3. Or you can contact us to arrange a drop off of your used cartridges.

Recycle Books, CDs, DVDs and Games

We all need to have a clear-out of stuff and we’re all keen to avoid putting reusable things into a landfill.

We’ve teamed up with trade-in site Ziffit to enable you to get rid of your unwanted CDs, books, DVDs and games, raising money for us in the process. Using the Ziffit website or app, type in or scan the barcode of your item, and at the ‘checkout’ you can donate the money to Genesis Trust. You box up your stuff, print off FREE postage and then take the box to a nearby collection point.

Go to our Ziffit page, or alternatively you can download the Ziffit app and select Genesis Trust as your chosen charity. There are other pltforms that do the same such as: We Buy Books and Music Magpie.

Recycle your Clothes

Give your clothes a second life. Send them to Thrift+ and they will do all the work to sort, photograph and sell your items online. You can then earn credits to spend online or to donate to Genesis Trust.

All you need to do is

  • Order a Thrift+ bag
  • Fill it up
  • Return it to Thrift+ for free

Click HERE to learn more about ordering a Thrift+ bag.

Recycle Foreign and Old Currency

Donate your foreign and old coins and banknotes to help Genesis Trust. If you have any foreign notes and coins left over from holidays or business trips or old currency, then we have two options for you to exchange it to raise funds for our work with homeless and vulnerable people.

1. Cash for Coins

Cash4Coins will buy it all and turn it into a useful donation for Genesis Trust. Please contact us if you have any currency to donate and we will exchange it with Cash4Coins. If you would like a collection box for your organisation, we can provide that.

2. Leftover Currency

It’s easy to donate your leftover holiday currency; simply fill out our charity exchange form and send it along with your currency to Leftover Currency’s Datchet office. They will exchange all currency, coins and notes, foreign and domestic, and donate the exchange value plus 5% extra to Genesis Trust Bath. Click here to go to our Leftover Currency page.

Recycle Cars or Motorcycles

If it’s time to part with your car or motorcycle, Give A Car will collect it for you and a donation will be made to Genesis Trust in return. Visit their website to arrange your collection and select Genesis Trust as your chosen charity.

Genesis Curios

Often items come our way that are not furniture and can’t be sold on our online Furniture Shop but could still raise funds for Genesis Trust. For example, we had had a whole fleet of model ships, vintage maps, interesting tea pots and other ‘curios’. Genesis Curios is an ebay shop with an ever-changing selection of pre-loved items for sale. It’s a bit random but it is always interesting!  It is a good place to find a needed kitchen item or something decorative to make your home even more cozy.

Click HERE to visit the shop.  Email us if you’d like to donate.
