Here at Genesis Trust we want to thank you for your faithful support of the Bath Foodbank.  Last year we provided 3-day emergency food parcels for 4564 people, including 1277 children. With only three part-time members of staff, we really couldn’t do this without the generosity of all our volunteers and the many donations we receive from the community.

NEW BANK THE FOOD APP

Our ever-busy Foodbank has so many things to update you on. Are you one of the generous people who donate food to us? We have made donating food even easier with an app called ‘BankTheFood’ which you can download onto your phone. With weekly updates showing our most needed food items, you can be sure you are donating what is most in demand. Once you’ve downloaded the app, just register and choose ‘Bath Foodbank’.

If you don’t want to use the app, you can still go to the Foodbank WEBSITE and see our most needed items there.  Or you could donate items that are always in demand: UHT milk, long life juice, tinned custard, and tinned rice pudding.

IMPORTANCE OF PARTNERSHIPS

Genesis Trust thrives through strong partnerships and collaboration. We have partnered with local organisations and businesses and together we are gifting new reading books for children who visit Bath Foodbank with their parents. Did you know that one in five children in the UK between the ages of five and eight have never owned a book? Our new ‘Bookbank’ means each child can choose a new book to take home with them. We are currently offering books for adults as well.

Grainne Mohar, Food Manager, said, “It is exciting to see how our support from the community is changing and developing.  The new partnerships supporting the Bookbank and the Foodbank app are all positive steps towards more effective support for local people.”

Our aim at Genesis Trust is to provide what we call ‘Good Help’, which supports people to feel hopeful, identify their own purpose and confidently take action. Thank you for helping us walk alongside vulnerable people as they journey towards new beginnings and better futures.
