If you are a UK taxpayer, your gifts can help Genesis support even more people when we can claim Gift Aid to top up your donation.

Last year Genesis Trust Bath received an extra £63,000 of income from Gift Aid!

This incredible contribution to our annual income is claimed from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and comes at no extra cost to you, our supporters. Thanks to you we have been able to invest this extra income in our projects supporting vulnerable adults in Bath.

 How Gift Aid works

When a UK taxpayer gives a gift of money to a registered charity, tax has already been paid on that money. Genesis Trust Bath can reclaim this previously paid tax back from HMRC and use it to support our work. For every £1 you donate, we can claim a further 25p from HMRC, so a gift of £100.00 becomes £125.00.

How much tax do you need to pay for us to claim Gift Aid? Your donations will qualify as long as they’re not more than four times what you have paid in tax in that tax year (6 April to 5 April).

All Genesis Trust Bath needs to claim Gift Aid is your name, address and the date of your declaration. This is included on our new online Gift Aid form.

We keep your declaration on record and claim Gift Aid quarterly against your donations. Our Gift Aid form covers both regular and single donations you make. You can also choose to Gift Aid single donations rather than all your donations if you only pay a small amount of tax. Just choose the option that best suits you on our online Gift Aid form.

We need your Gift Aid declarations

Last year, Genesis Trust could have claimed another £13,000 in Gift Aid for donations that didn’t have a Gift Aid declaration. We understand that not all supporters are able to Gift Aid but we are trying to update our records to be able to reclaim as much Gift Aid income as we can.

If you are a UK taxpayer who has donated to us in the past four years, can you please complete a Gift Aid declaration by clicking HERE.

Thank you for enabling this extra support. We are so grateful for your help.
