As lockdown began we quickly realised that we would be unable to safely maintain our Foodbank activities in the normal way. We knew we needed to centralise our warehousing and distribution to reduce movement of people and goods and maximise our capacity.
Widcombe Baptist Church came to our rescue and offered us the use of their building. We quickly set up a temporary warehouse and packing space and were able to launch and run our new home delivery service from this location.
This gift has enabled us over the past twelve weeks to distribute 727 food parcels, each containing three days worth of food. In total we have supported nearly 1400 people.
We would like to say a big thank you to the Elders and all at Widcombe Baptist Church for their generosity and for making this difficult time easier and safer for our staff and volunteers. Bath Foodbank has now moved to a long-term location.
